WELCOME TO HOLLOW OAK GLAMPING

Hollow Oak Glamping is set within a working family farm which includes a herd of pedigree Charolais cattle and an assortment of sheep, goats, hens and ducks. Rheon grew up on the farm and now lives here with his family (Lucy and three teenage children). The Grade II listed 16th century Welsh farmhouse, Brynffanigl Uchaf, stands out in the local landscape because of its tall, white chimneys.

Our two bespoke wood cabins are nestled below the farm under the gaze of a centuries old Oak tree. The tree has a large hollow bottom which has been the focus of many childhood games including how many people can fit in the hole, which is rather a lot!  Hence the name Hollow Oak Glamping to reflect the history of the farm and its connection to nature. We believe the Oak tree could tell some fascinating tales! The farm has links to a medieval Welsh Lord, Ednefyd Fychan, known as the ‘Lord of Brynffanigl’ whose descendants began the Tudor royal dynasty.

A stone’s throw from the doors of the cabins is a stream which runs the length of the site. It is framed by mature trees which attract buzzards, woodpeckers, thrushes, goldfinches, jays, owls and bats. Many an hour can be lost relaxing on the decking and listening intently trying to identify the bird sounds punctuated by the occasional moo, baa, clucks, and quacks!

Our two luxurious, quirky cabins were hand-crafted by Rheon using local larch and red cedar. Each one has been built individually focusing on luxury, comfort and to create a sense of well-being and awareness of surroundings. Each have under-floor heating, double-glazing with glass fronted doors, fully equipped kitchens with induction hobs, snug beds, cosy seating areas, ensuite bathrooms with showers and private decking with seating and BBQs. A firepit area is situated alongside the stream for toasting marshmallows and watching the sun set on your day.

We are located in a beautiful, rural setting with life-affirming countryside on our doorstep, the beach a few miles away, and the breath-taking mountains of Snowdonia National Park half an hour away (views can be seen from the farm!). If you’re looking for rural escapism, you’ve found it!

Thank you for having us in your beautiful Cwt! It was exactly the idyll that we needed to escape our busy London lives. We loved meeting you both, and all of your extended animal family. Your Watkin Path Snowdon recommendation resulted in the most magical day for us and some wild swimming post-summit! We are sad to leave and can’t wait to visit again! A truly special place.

Thank you, Lucy and Rheon, for a lovely, relaxing few days. As soon as we walked in it was beautiful, we’ve never stayed in a place like this before.  We will be booking again (soon).  We loved sitting outside in the evening with the fire, just relaxing and enjoying the stunning views. I can’t get over the place what you have done is amazing!

Wow! What a beautiful setting and a perfect little cabin.  You really did think of everything. Thank you Lucy and Rheon for being so welcoming and showing us around your farm. We have loved sitting on the porch and watching nature. We were especially excited to see the bats of an evening! You really have made the cabin feel like a home.
